Zola, the virtual wedding planner that serves as “your wedding website, registry, checklist and guest list—all in one place,” is keeping its brand promise by hitting the road to collect love stories in a retro 21-foot camper transformed into a “Registry On Wheels.”
In a thoroughly modern approach to wedding planning and the registry experience, Zola will make stops in New York, Chicago and Washington D.C., so couples can tell their love story in the “Registry On Wheels” replete with a custom recording studio built for two.
Styled to resemble a newlywed apartment, also on hand will be gifts to give a taste of more than 500 brands and over 50,000 gifts from Zola merchants, from home decor and dinnerware to furniture and barware.
Visitors can sample wedding cake from a local bakery and engaged couples can receive advice from VIP Zola Advisors about the wedding planning journey.
Modern Love: The Podcast “is here to steal your heart.” From the pages of The New York Times and the studios of WBUR, Boston, it explores the intimate relationships in their many forms and each week’s episode features a memorable Modern Love essay read by the likes of January Jones, Emmy Rossum, Judd Apatow and Catherine Keener.
Best friends and lovebirds are invited to participate and select audio will be edited by the producers of Modern Love: The Podcast, with several selected to air at the end of Modern Love episodes in time for Valentine’s Day 2018.
All of the love stories audio will be available online in February and couples not on the travel route can participate by recording their own “Modern Love” story.
The tour is timed for the start of “engagement season” as an estimated 40% of U.S. couples get engaged and start their wedding registry between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day.
Zola is the fastest-growing wedding company in the U.S., combining “compassionate customer service with modern tools and technology—all in the service of love.” Besides the KitchenAid and other brands you might expect on a wedding registry, it includes gifts such gym memberships to Equinox.
The Modern Love podcast producers found great interest with last year’s call for “YOUR stories about places or situations where you met your significant other.” This year’s “Love Stories Tour” is the first time the podcast has partnered with a brand in this way to gather personal stories from listeners.
