2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards Announces Brand Sponsors

Film Independent, the nonprofit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the LA Film Festival, has announced its brand sponsors for the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards, being announced on Saturday, March 3rd.

Now in its 33rd year, the Spirit Awards is an annual celebration (telecast on IFC) honoring artist-driven films made with an economy of means by filmmakers whose films embody independence and originality. The Spirit Awards recognizes the achievements of American independent filmmakers and promotes the finest independent films of the year to a wider audience.

The Spirit Awards are sponsored by Premier Sponsors American Airlines, AT&T, IFC and the Jeep brand; Principal Sponsors, Piaget and Visit Seattle; and Supporting Sponsor Truly Spiked & Sparkling. Independent Spirit Awards 2018 - American Airlines award

American Airlines returns for its fourth year as the official airline and a Premier Sponsor of the Spirit Awards. This year, in partnership with Film Independent, American is recognizing the importance of women in film and in every industry by awarding $50,000 to independent female filmmakers. The Bonnie Award is named after Bonnie Tiburzi Caputo, the first female pilot to fly for a major U.S. airline.

Bonnie, who flew for American for 26 years before retiring, will be attending the Spirit Awards.
