There are lots of ways to brand up, while spending less.
Alexander Corrie, Marketing Director, Bodegas Aguila, Spain - February 2, 2008
Recession is certainly unwelcomeable for branding industry.
Howerver ,recession may be look edupon as a period for brand introspection .
It is a period of test of brand's health.
However ,there are some product categories whose consumption is recession proof-Eg :Cold Drinks etc.
However ,many corporates may tend to spend less during the recession cycle, some brands can get a long lasting mind space by spending a bit more during the recession period as noise levels would be low.
Every brand must have it's own suitable strategy to combat recession.

Natalie Davidson, Creative Director, The FireEngine - February 4, 2008
If even there is such a thing as a branding "industry" (which I seriously doubt), then I hope the recession completely wipes it out. If you are a self-proclaimed branding "person" or "professional", spare the rest of humanity and the business world and go find something useful to do.
