Readers participating in the Consumerist blog’s second annual Worst Ad in America Awards have crowned Luvs “Poop! There It Is” as the 2011 winner, (above) taking 32% of the 115,000 votes and beating an AT&T spot at 23.98%, in which a wife berates her husband for signing the family up for unlimited texting. P&G has upped its F-commerce game with new Facebook stores for Tide, Gillette, Olay, Gain, CoverGirl, Luvs and Febreze, mixing social with detergents, cosmetics and diapers in a bid to fish where the fish are — and make it convenient for them to swim up to the checkout.
P&G's pilot store launched on Facebook last year, powered by Amazon, but now, the e-commerce functionality is being outsourced to PFSWeb's eStore, the CPG giant's independent online e-commerce site selling its branded products directly to consumers.
“Shop now” buttons on each brand page link to a retail page for e-commerce with a splash tab inviting fans to “Purchase on Facebook through these trusted retailers.”Continue reading...

Is America's 2011 new year resolution to look at the easy laugh to be had from gutter humor, turn away and begin to class the joint up a bit? If the latest Luvs diaper commercial is anything to go by, the answer is a resounding no.
The above recent commercial has been blowing up Twitter every time it plays. The campaign coincides with an upcoming diaper design relaunch from Luvs offering, no kidding, "Heavy dooty protection." Poop, there it (indeed) is.
