Shoparatti: Melissa Rivers Cuts the Clutter of the Daily Deal

Shoparatti, Melissa Rivers’ daily deal website, has just added a pair of fashionista-luring features: a star-studded Style Council, which launches with E! News’ Giuliana Rancic; and a blog, featuring Rivers' “Top Picks” with weekly video and a photo section with trends and styles so shoppers can visualize Shoparatti’s daily deals.

With her site barely two months old, Rivers sorts through 80+ competitive daily deal sites, including Gilt, HauteLook, Rue La LA, and Groupon, to “clear the clutter,” as she commented this week at a meet-and-greet in New York.Continue reading...

eBay Celebrates The Holidays With Stores And Web Sites For Shoppers

Earlier this month, eBay announced plans to open mobile boutiques in 12 cities across the country in an effort to service holiday shopping. Well, the holidays must officially be here, because eBay's pop-up stores began popping up on November 20.

The 5,500-square foot Manhattan location is stocked with a dizzying “selection of Norma Kamali’s exclusive fashions for eBay, L.A.M.B. shoes, handbags from Michael Kors and Dooney & Bourke, Anthropologie dresses, cosmetics from M.A.C., Smashbox and other brands, and the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and Vera Wang Princess fragrances. DailyCandy's Swirl Offers Designer Tastes For Savvy Shoppers

Online shoppers will be thrilled to learn that DailyCandy, the website known for newsletters alerting of sample sales, has created its own sample sale website. The members-only site, called Swirl, will carry designer clothing and accessories for up to 80% off.

The online sales market has become increasingly crowded and increasingly popular. One of the many, Rue La La, just sold for $350 million to GSI Commerce, an e-commerce company which specializes in managing the sites of major retailers like ToysRUs.com and Zales.Continue reading...
