Oxfam 'Grow' Tackles Global Food Crisis

Imagine a world with enough food for everyone on the plant. Oxfam, the UK-headquartered NGO that fights global poverty, is doing just that with its new global campaign, "Grow," which focuses on one element of the poverty cycle: food injustice.

Wonder why #plannedparenthood is a trending topic today on Twitter?

It's at the heart of a stand-off, as US Republicans and Democrats debate a Republican-backed proposal to cut more than $300 million in Title X federal funding for women's health care centers, including Planned Parenthood, that may force a government shutdown (another trending topic) at midnight tonight.

That's why it's seeking support by releasing a series of celebrity spots titled "Stand With Planned Parenthood" including PSAs by Scarlett Johannson (above) and Gwyneth Paltrow (below), along with a group spot featuring comedian Sarah Silverman and actress Kathleen Turner.Continue reading...

Actress Scarlett Johansson has been tabloid fodder since her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, filed for divorce last month and has been spotted on the arm of Sandra Bullock. A new photo shoot for Moët & Chandon Champagne may divert the public’s mind away from Johansson’s relationship woes and back onto her luscious lips. 

The campaign capitalizes on Johansson’s classic bombshell style and include a particularly Marilyn-esque shot of her holding a bottle of Moët. Another shows her in an elaborate blue strapless gown, poised on a ladder with one leg exposed amid pyramids of champagne flutes.Continue reading...
