Twitter Snags LeBron James; Betty White and Cleveland, Too?

Posted by Shirley Brady on July 6, 2010 04:00 PM

With LeBron James expected to announce his NBA franchise decision as soon as tomorrow, the NBA's hottest free agent has joined Twitter in advance of his big announcement.

There appears to be some confusion as to whether the Twitter account is his or not, which is fine by the NBA. The league wants fans to keep buzzing. With nary a tweet, the @KingJames account is zooming to 100,000 followers in record time. [4:15 update: It's LeBron alright, he has just tweeted, and he's well past 100,000 followers.]

Another red-hot star, Betty White, is using her considerable charms (see the video above) to convince James to stay in Cleveland—the setting for her new TV Land sitcom, Hot in Cleveland—and continue playing with the Cavaliers.
