Truth or Dare hit movie theaters way back in 1991, but Madonna is still milking the brand. She's already selling Truth or Dare fragrances at Macy's and now she’s putting out a Truth or Dare shoe collection as a precursor to a fashion collection of the same name. The timing isn't coincidental — the singer's next album, titled MDNA, launches on March 27th.
The Truth or Dare line, a collaboration with Canada's Aldo Group, will offer more than 60 styles when it launches in August. The cost: between $89 and $349, the perfect price point for any Material Girl.Continue reading...

Having noted Michael Jackson's virtual meeting place for fans, we'd be remiss if we didn't note that the Material Girl herself will be at Macy's NYC flagship today to support her juniors clothing line.
Madonna, who directed the campaign for the exclusive-to-Macy's line, will appear at the official kick-off (6:30pm ET) along with her daughter Lola, the line's muse and co-blogger, and Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen, the face of the collection.
Attendance is limited to fans spending a minimum of $75 (from Sept. 19 through today) on items from the collection, and those who won an audition to dance at tonight's launch party.Continue reading...

Madonna has been hit with a lawsuit over the rights to use the "Material Girl" name for her new teen clothing collection for Macy's.
Turns out the pop star, known as the "Material Girl" since she first made it big in the 1980s, never trademarked the name. Who did?
Apparently a clothing manufacturer based in Cerritos, California. L.A. Triumph Inc. says it has held the trademark for the name, under which its sells its line of juniors clothing line, since 1997.Continue reading...

Just as her former collaborator Justin Timberlake directed the campaign for his tequila brand, Madonna got behind the camera for her Material Girl collection for Macy's, which debuts Aug. 3. Taylor Momsen, the face of the tween-to-teens clothing collection, talked about Brand Madonna at the photo shoot, where Madonna's daughter (and the collection's muse) Lola was also on hand.

It came as no surprise to find out that Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen is indeed the face of Macy's Material Girl collection, Madonna's first ever teen clothing line that hits stores on August 3 and will be promoted by Madonna in-person on Sept. 22.
Developed with input from Madonna's resident teen, her daughter Lourdes, the teaser trailer (which you can see after the jump) which debuted last month was unmistakably Momsen.
The bigger mystery: is the collection's blog really written by Lourdes (aka Lola) or one of Macy's junior copywriters?
