Lemonade Mouth: Disney's Pre-Fab Band Hits it Big

Posted by Shirley Brady on April 27, 2011 12:30 PM

Three years ago, Disney Channel was called "the greatest teen-star incubator since the NBA stopped drafting high schoolers."

But with Miley Cyrus moving on to Lindsay Lohan-land, the High School Musical stars now college-age, the Jonas Brothers morphing into the Jonas Men, and (most recently) Demi Lovato quitting, Disney Channel needs new stars.

Luckily, a Disney original movie about a fake band appears to have spawned the real deal.Continue reading...

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Wrangle Celeb Pals for Anti-Child Trafficking Spots

Posted by Shirley Brady on April 11, 2011 01:00 PM

The "Real Man" campaign featuring Sean Penn and a host of other actors and star athletes was released today in support of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's DNA Foundation — short for Demi'n'Ashton as well as Donate/Notify/Action.

The tagline is "Real Men Don't Buy Girls." So what do "Real Men" do? Evidently, "iron" (above) and "walk it off" (below), even with a gaping wound.

It's a well-meaning if muddled (there's a live-action sequence, followed by Jessica Biel or Eva Longoria highlighting another "real man") effort, the biggest to date in the foundation's commitment to raise awareness and stop child prostitution, sex slavery and trafficking.Continue reading...

No Strings Attached
is filled with products — nearly 30 by our count. It shouldn't come as a surprise.Continue reading...

Posted by Abe Sauer on January 21, 2011 06:00 PM

Stella Artois Blurred in Racy Kushton/Portman Movie Trailer

Posted by Abe Sauer on January 4, 2011 01:00 PM

No Strings Attached is an upcoming film directed by Ivan Reitman that's being released on Jan. 21 about a couple of friends who try to remain buddies once they begin having sex.

The R-rated film stars Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman as the friends with benefits, but it certainly doesn't offer many benefits to the Stella Artois brand featured in the film. In fact, its trailer encapsulates how product placement is regarded in Hollywood.Continue reading...

Range Rover Taps Victoria Beckham

Posted by Shirley Brady on July 2, 2010 10:00 AM

Land Rover unveiled its "smallest, lightest, greenest" (and cheapest) Range Rover - the 2011 Evoque, designed by Victoria Beckham.

The Spice Girl-turned-fashion-designer attended its unveiling, above, at a posh (pun intended) party at Kensington Palace with Vogue UK yesterday. Given its partners, the new "baby Rover" was unveiled with all the glitz of a red carpet fashion show. The event also celebrated the 40th anniversary of Range Rover, which will roll its millionth vehicle off the assembly line this summer.

Beckham was also named Range Rover's creative director, in a similar partnership to Polaroid's deal with Lady Gaga and Popchips' arrangement with its new part-owner, Ashton Kutcher.Continue reading...
