Kings of Leon Goes From MTV To Tees

Posted by Sara Zucker on November 6, 2009 01:01 PM

Though they've been in the music scene for a few albums now, it seems that Kings of Leon have officially blown up into J-Lo/Miley Cyrus/Gwen Stefani/Ben Harper territory: they are designing a clothing line. The Nashville-born family of musicians -- the band consists of three brothers and their cousin – will be collaborating with Paris-based creative collective Surface to Air on a limited-edition collection that will retail exclusively at Copenhagen boutique Paris Texas.

Since the boys received five nominations at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, odds are there will plenty of Denmark-bound fans to stand in line once the collection drops.

Known for their skinny jeans, flannels, leather boots, and wide-brimmed hats, hipsters all around Williamsburg will be spitting out their Pabst Blue Ribbon as soon as they hear the news. Flannel will be available in both green and red versions, there’s a black leather bomber, patchwork dark denim and braided belts, and a red bandanna. I feel like I'm in the costume trailer of a poorly-directed cowboy film.

True to their down-home roots, this garb is considered ”fancy clothes” by the band.

If you're planning on buying some for the Paul Bunyan in your life, the wares hit Paris Texas in early December, but only a few pieces of each style will be stocked.
