Apple Unseats Microsoft; BP Top Kill a Go

Apple became the world's most valuable tech company today, hitting a market cap of $227.1 billion to unseat Microsoft's $226.3 billion.

BP's top kill plan is underway as it buys Google ad to highlight its clean-up site. PBS is live-streaming on its YouTube channel.

Jean Paul Gaultier is out at Hermès, which will retain a 45% stake in his label. Who's in: Lacoste designer Christopher Lemaire.

CES head Gary Shapiro has some advice for brands in China.

This is the era of the Authentic brand. Apples brand strategy and innovations in marketing are what is driving them forward. Microsoft is lagging not because of it's products but because of it's image and brand reputation.
