Reliant Energy Dances Across Dallas

Posted by Shirley Brady on August 18, 2010 04:30 PM

The dancers in the video above aren't rehearsing for Spider-Man on Broadway. The Project Bandaloop dancers treated office workers in downtown Dallas yesterday to a skyscraper performance that was sponsored by Reliant Energy.

The event was the highlight of Reliant's midday press conference to announce its new cap-and-save program (as energy prices drop, so do customers' energy bills).

Reliant also symbolically 'capped' fares on Dallas Area Rapid Transit for the day by giving away free one-day transit passes at six DART rail stations during the morning rush-hour.

Graceful and beautiful; reminds me of Cirque du Soleil.

While this is very beautifully done, I'm not sure what the connect is with the dancers and the new plan. Perhaps I'm jaded by thinking every interpretive dance means something other than what it is. Dance.

Just read the outline for the cap-and-save program though and it looks just as intriguing as people dancing on a building. So the dancing worked to get Brand Channel's attention and deliver the program's message to me way out in Denver, CO.

Nice.
