More Fun With Branded Halloween Costumes

Posted by Abe Sauer on October 27, 2010 10:00 AM

For those who are huge fans of both Halloween and branded consumer products, here's the second in our two-part series on Brands as Halloween Costumes.

Like the Mozilla Firefox costume above, Halloween is a time of year when you can unabashedly communicate your brand loyalty to the world by dressing yourself, or your child, as a favorite brand. Or, just in case you don't successfully bid on that creepy Snickers commericial costume, here are some more suggestions:

Geico Caveman

Huge fan of Geico brand but incapable of doing the gecko's foreign accent? Then the Geico caveman is for you. Rather shocking that a single brand of insurance (insurance!) has inspired not one but two characters this recognizable.

Pez

This Austrian brand gets its name from the German word for peppermint, "Pfefferminz." That's just one of the many bits of trivia you can spread while wearing this iconic brand costume.

Viagra

Is this really the message you want to send about yourself?

Playboy's Hugh Hefner

This costume didn't make our list of Playboy's questionable brand licenses. Yet, identifying with Hugh Heffner may not be what it used to be. Make the costume fun by partnering it with the costume above.

Twix

Hey, everyone loves Twix — but don't do this to your children. (For adults, sexy Twix.)

Tootsie Roll

The classic candy makes for an easy costume. Add some hipster intelligence to it by walking around singing the old Saturday morning jingle, "Whatever it is… I think… I see… Becomes a Tootsie Roll to me."

UPS Man

What can Brown do for Halloween? Make your child quite adorable, that's what. Make this costume even better by accompanying your child dressed as the UPS Whiteboard Guy.

United States Postal Service Delivery Man

A perfect companion for the UPS man, these two branded postal services can add some flair by fighting over candy while trick or treating. Avoid houses with tea party signs in the yard as this costume may be seen as a political statement about government control.

BP "guy"

Despite reports that this is a "hot seller," the scariest part of this Halloween costume is that it might already be considered dated?
