US Fashion Brands Granted Fair Trade Seal

Fair Trade USA, which calls itself the leading third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States, announced today the designers receiving the organization's inaugural Fair Trade certification. Designers selling items with the new Fair Trade USA apparel certification, a set of sustainability benchmarks "from the cotton field" to factories to the hanger, include Project Runway alum Korto Momolu. A worthy program, it seems — one that will have more clout when major labels get involved. Click here for details.
