FedEx Notches Busiest Day Ever

Posted by Shirley Brady on December 13, 2010 04:45 PM

Today is the busiest day in FedEx's history, handling an estimated 16 million shipments. The global shipper also expects it will move more than 223 million items between Thanksgiving and Christmas, requiring more than 680 FedEx aircraft and 80,000 FedEx vehicles.

CNN tagged along for the ride, while FedEx execs kicked off the milestone by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, in addition to placing boxes in Wall Street to collect toys and gifts for the FedExFamilyHouse in Memphis, a partnership with Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
