Crumbs Whips Up the First Cupcake IPO

Thought the cupcake craze had subsided? Crumbs Bake Shop, America's largest cupcake bakery chain, is poised to go public through a $66 million merger with an investment company, according to the New York Times.

The move would mark the first publicly-traded cupcake brand, ahead of rivals include Los Angeles-based Sprinkles, which claims to the be the world's first cupcake bakery, and New York's Magnolia Bakery — still sought out by tourists following a cameo on Sex and the City.
