Toyota may be facing real challenges in the wake of the Japan quake, but it's turning to a virtual ambassador — Hatsune Miku, a Gorillaz-like virtual pop star in Japan, whose projected (and famously blue-haired) avatar plays before live audiences. Watch her new spots for the Toyota Corolla below.
As the Wall Street Journal notes, Miku — a 3D creation of Crypton Future Media — marks the first time Toyota has used a digital avatar to sell a car:
