Target Puts Tradition Into Masstige with Missoni Collection

Posted by Shirley Brady on August 31, 2011 02:04 PM

Target's highly anticipated Go International collection with Missoni aims to boost the venerable Italian fashion house in the US when it arrives in stores and online on September 13.

In a teaser video above, Margherita Maccapani Missoni explains the history behind her family’s knitwear-to-lifestyle brand and the inspiration for the limited-edition capsule collection — Target's biggest designer collaboration to date, with more than 400 pieces on offer this fall.

The collection is being promoted with ads in the September issues of Vanity Fair, Vogue and other magazines, and with a pop-up store in New York, timed to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runway shows kicking off Sept. 8.

According to FabSugar, the first 20 Fashion's Night Out shoppers who spend more than $100 at the Bryant Park pop-up store will get a family-style photo with Angela Missoni and Margherita Maccapani Missoni, while "guests who purchase pieces from the official Fashion’s Night Out collection within the first hour at the pop-up store in New York City on Sept. 8 will be entered to win some of Angela and Margherita’s favorite pieces from the Missoni for Target collection."

More details on the Target Style Twitter feed, Facebook page and Tumblr, and in FabSugar's video preview below.
