Cartier is celebrating its 165th anniversary with a cinematic ad that features the jewelry-maker's classic diamond panther comes to life, prowling its iconic designs in a visually stunning series of outdoor settings that span the globe. As the brand puts it, "L'Odyssée de Cartier" commercial is "a journey between dream and reality. For the very first time, Cartier has decided to create a cinema epic focusing on its history, its values and inspiration, its artistic and universal scope." Watch it below.
As the Telegraph notes, the panther "was the nickname of Cartier's legendary designer Jeanne Toussaint, who created their first ever piece of panther jewelry — a bracelet for the Duchess of Windsor." The commercial ends in Paris, the birthplace of Cartier, on Place Vendôme where the panther meets supermodel Shalom Harlow at the Grand Palais. The 3:30 film will be shown in-cinema and on TV in 12 countries including the US, China and South America.
The spot is directed by Bruno Aveillan, whose previous high-end commercial work includes spots for Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Swarovski and Shangri-La hotels.
