First introduced several months ago as a concept at Milan Design Week, Heineken is readying to roll out its interactive Heineken Ignite bottle in seven key markets around the globe.
The “first interactive bottle” is outfitted with eight bright LEDs, an eight-bit microprocessor, a motion detector, and a wireless network transceiver that allows the bottle to light up when you raise it to take a sip, clink bottles, and even flash along to the beat of real-time music, according to PSFK.
The bright brew will debut in nightclubs in seven of the brand's top 25 markets by year's end, with a larger rollout planned for 2014. And who knows? With time and more technology and insights gleaned from Heineken's big data insights, consumers may soon be able to watch Heineken's sponsored web series, Dropped, right on their beer bottles.
