Marmite is considered a yeasty feast by some, and ick-inducing goo by others, but love it ior hate it: the iconic British brand has earned a reputation worldwide since its conception in 1902.
Marking its 110th anniversary this year, Marmite is tipping its cap to another iconic British brand celebrating a major milestone this year: Queen Elizabeth, who celebrates 60 years on the throne at her Diamond Jubilee on June 5th.
In honor of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Marmite this week releases a limited-edition Ma’amite in observation of the royal occasion. Featuring the Union flag anchored by Marmite’s familiar brand equities, the commemorative Ma’amite launched exclusively in Sainsbury’s on April 16th and is now rolling out in stores across the U.K.
Ma’amite is Marmite’s fourth limited-edition offering, following its popular Guinness, Champagne, Marston’s Pedigree, and Marmite’s Original and XO varieties. It's designed by Hornall Anderson UK, Marmite’s creative partner and the developer of branding and packaging for its entire product range, including limited editions.
Judging by the jaunty official Diamond Jubilee website, we think Her Majesty would approve.
