The Lady Gaga phenomenon doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. Now the most popular person alive on Facebook (she was the first living celebrity to reach 10 million fans), the 24-year old performer has not only cultivated a huge worldwide following… she has become a mega-brand in her own right.
The latest potential income-producing endorsement for the commercial Gaga machine is said to be tea, since Lady Gaga is an avid tea drinker. According to The Financial Express and other sources, the UK’s Twinings tea brand is pursuing Lady Gaga, offering her a multi-million pound contract for potentially putting her famous face on a new tea.
A source claimed Twinings’ idea is “to have tasting sessions in which she would participate. … They want to market tea to a new, younger generation — particularly in America — and Gaga is making drinking tea cool again.”[more]
Lady Gaga’s management has supposedly received offers from other tea companies, but Twinings is thought to be the front-runner. We’ll soon find out if “Tea for Two” will be replaced by “The Taste of Gaga,” one of the names being considered for the new brand. I don’t know about you, but some fans might think this is just tasteless.
