British Ice Cream Brand Isn’t For the Faint of Heart

The BBC report above details a pop-up ice-cream shop in London’s Covent Garden area with an unusual — and some would say, gag-inducing — twist. The Icecreamists is getting a ton of press in the UK and beyond for its latest flavor: human breast milk.

Dubbed Baby Gaga, it uses real breast milk from a nursing mother, and costs about US$30 per serving. The latest batch has sold out, and it may be their last batch. According to their Twitter feed, local officials weren’t amused, calling it a health hazard following complaints from two men, apparently.

It’s the latest shock tactic for a brand that launched as a pop-up shop at London’s Selfridges in 2009 with some unusual flavor combinations.[more]

As the video below highlights, the brand made its name with a punk rock attitude and flavors such as Sex Pistols absinthe and black Vogue liquorice.
