Tommy Hilfiger Preps iPad Debut

Tommy Hilfiger’s first iPad app is now available to help users get a better fit for classic sportswear chinos and denim styles.

Using video imaging to deliver a 360-degree view, models display fit and movement in various silhouettes, as the app offers alternative styling suggestions and specifics on the cut of each pant, including details on the rise (high, mid or low), fit (regular or slim) and leg (skinny, boot or straight).

For summer 2011, the focus is on 6 styles for men and 5 styles for women, and coming in the fall, will expand to include the full Hilfiger Denim Collection.

The app launched in four languages: English, French, Spanish, and Dutch.

This follows the May launch of Hilfiger’s augmented reality-powered preppy fitting room promoting its spring/summer limited-edition Prep World collection, enabling users to superimpose clothing from the collection using a mobile phone’s camera.

It’s no longer enough to be stylish and fashionable — these times require digital innovation and savvy as well.
