Pizza-lovers can already order Domino’s on iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 8 and Kindle Fire mobile devices—even via in-car tech powered by Ford, not to mention at dominos.com.
Add smartwatches to its list of digital ordering innovations, as Domino’s customers can now place and track their order by downloading an an app for Pebble and Android Wear smartwatches.
In an announcement timed to Mobile World Congress, the move marks the first time that Domino’s ordering is available on smartwatch technology.[more]
“What customers have shown us is that they want access to the brand through technology, and they want it anytime, anywhere they are no matter what screen is in front of them, whether they’re driving their Ford or in their living room or on a laptolp or mobile phone,” Domino’s CEO Patrick Doyle told brandchannel in December.
“They want to be able to access the brand through technology. And we have pretty drastically changed our model over the last five to seven years to accommodate that.”
Extending ordering to smartphones is a logical extension to that commitment. “Pairing Domino’s with smartwatch technology couldn’t be more of a natural fit,” stated Kevin Vasconi, Domino’s Pizza chief information officer.
“We are constantly looking for ways to use technology to enhance our customers’ experience and provide them with more convenience. We pride ourselves on having a variety of online ordering options for customers to choose from.”
To utilize the new ordering feature, customers must also have a Pizza Profile with a saved Easy Order™ or recent order.
They can also use the Domino’s Tracker on their smartwatch to follow the progress of their order, from the time it is taken, to when it is placed in the oven, and ready for delivery or carryout.
And that’s not all—watch for more Easy Order™ innovations coming this year.
