KFC keeps getting creative in its brand affiliations. In its latest partnership, the Yum!-owned chicken giant is cozying up to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to promote its new Georgia Gold honey-mustard flavor variety.
WWE Network this week aired a 90-second spot during its Royal Rumble broadcast that features network superstars Enzo Amore and Big Cass promoting Georgia Gold. Enzo says he’s got a “date” that night and Cass is curious when Enzo starts talking suggestively—until Enzo reveals that his appointment is with some luscious Georgia Gold chicken.
KFC and the wrestling network collaborated on production of the spot, which will air in WWE Network broadcasts until WrestleMania on April 2.
The commercial plays off KFC’s existing Georgia Gold campaign in which Billy Zane plays the latest in a long line of celebrities getting into the goateed iconic guise of Colonel Harland Sanders, following Darrell Hammond, Norm Macdonald, George Hamilton and others.

The promotion follows KFC’s recent attempt to tap into seasonal football excitement with the KFC Football Frenzy, an Instagram game that uses animations and 35 different Instagram accounts to tell the short story of a football game.
