Sony Square in New York’s Flatiron district has just unveiled its latest exhibit—The Sony Music Experience—which is open to the public from March 14 through April 25. It features different interactive components and is inspired by a day in the life of a Sony Music recording artist:
Recording Booth: Think you’ve got what it takes? Sony Square NYC invites visitors to put their singing skills to the test karaoke-style and step inside a custom booth to record a vocal track for one of ten songs available. Upon completion, the singer will be provided with both an audio and video recording that can be shared with friends and posted on their social channels.
Album Cover Shoot: A 3D photo shoot set enables visitors to be inserted into the cover artwork for DJ Khaled’s bestselling album Major Key. Once the photo is complete, visitors will get a digital copy of the picture for their own use.
Video Shoot: Visitors to Sony Square NYC will have the opportunity to be digitally added to Meghan Trainor’s music video “All About That Bass” by dancing in front of a green screen. Once complete, visitors will receive a digital copy of their custom video to post and share.
Visitors to the music exhibit will be treated to a very special pop-up store, where fans can listen to over 20 Sony Music recordings on vinyl. There will also be limited edition merchandise for sale, such as t-shirts and hoodies.
To round out the exhibit, visitors will be able to see a large collection of Sony Music memorabilia, from autographed instruments and album covers to original Polaroids and hand-written lyrics.
It’s located at 25 Madison Avenue and the hours are Monday – Saturday 10AM – 7PM (and Sunday 11AM – 6PM).
